The drama courses are electives. Students work on ensemble skills, developing performances based on text or devised work, and exploring drama practices from around the world through research and practice. Building on the work of our popular Middle School drama program, these courses are designed to provide students with a broad experience of drama in different forms and give them a well-rounded arts experience and can support the growth of the MS and HS drama programming to feed into potential IBDP Theatre.  Students have opportunities to perform in front of audiences and are also able to develop technical and production skills in our fully equipped black box studio and a 500-seat theater.

The theatrical design courses are electives.  Students have the opportunity to work on the design and construction of props and scenery in our theater’s scene shop. Students are trained on the proper uses and functions of our power tools and can be a crucial part of the building of our two mainstage shows. The course also introduces you to other performance design areas such as stage management, costumes, video projection, lighting, and sound design.
