Qualifications:

  • Four-year university degree with ECE (early childhood education) / NTT (nursery teachers’ training) qualifications and/or a B.Ed. degree or higher
  • Minimum 3 years of excellent teaching experience at the kindergarten / primary school level
  • Fluent English speaker with excellent communication skills
  • Country of origin is not critical but knowledge of / experience in the Canadian education system is a big plus

Desired Experience / Knowledge:

  • Some international experience is highly desired
  • Some experience in educational leadership and/or administration is useful
  • Personal qualities: positive, emotionally intelligent, hard-working, willing to share knowledge, professional, pro-active attitude, passionate about teaching

Maple Bear International School in Tashkent is seeking kindergarten homeroom teachers who will help in building a distinguished culture of a high-quality English-speaking kindergarten that follows an award-winning Canadian education curriculum and prepares its students to become successful in their future academic pursuits in the best international and local schools in Uzbekistan or abroad.

Maple Bear International School in Tashkent is part of the fully vertically integrated educational precinct that comprises a university (British Management University, opened in 2020, https://bmu-edu.uz/) and a K-12 Maple Bear Global School (opening in September 2024, https://maplebear.uz).  We are located on a beautiful 25-acre / 10-hectare large property on the easter side of Tashkent with a view of the mountains.

Kindergarten homeroom teachers report to the KG Academic Coordinator and are responsible for:

  • Teaching and supervising a group of kindergarteners (at the Toddler / Nursery / Junior KG / or Senior KG level, ages 2-6) in a team with a teacher assistant
  • Ensuring the quality of education, safety, and care in the classroom
  • Managing a clean and sanitized classroom environment in concurrence with the Maple Bear curriculum standards
  • Assessing the kindergarteners’ progress and communicating it to the Academic Coordinator and the parents via report cards and assessment reports
  • Ensuring quality communication and engagement with parents
  • Maintaining a friendly and supportive work and learning environment
  • Performing various administrative duties as assigned by the Academic Coordinator
