Role Specific Responsibilities:
● Teaches assigned ELA courses
● Collaborates with department, secondary team, and administration around student
progress
● Completes and implements effective lessons and teaching strategies
● Follows grading policies
● Uses data from NWEA MAP and benchmark assessments to guide instruction and
support students
● Follows the curriculum map and standards for each course and grade level
● Prepares students for university level English in reading and writing
● Follows discipline system and uses PBIS, Love & Logic, and Restorative Practices
● Mentor, disciple and guide a small group of students on a weekly basis
● Other duties and courses as assigned

Required Qualifications:
● Passion for serving God in the context of education
● Bachelor’s Degree in Literature or Secondary Education with English emphasis
● ACSI certification or ability to obtain
● Experience teaching US curriculum at the secondary level
Preferred Qualifications:
● Two or more years of successful teaching experience
● Prior experience in an international school
● Master’s Degree in Education or English
● Understanding of Common Core Standards
● Experience with English Language Learners
● USA state teacher certification
