Bachelor’s Degree in Secondary Education with English Emphasis
ACSI certification or ability to obtain
Experience teaching US curriculum at the secondary level
Preferred Qualifications:
Two or more years of successful teaching experience
AP certification or ability to obtain AP certification
Prior experience in an international school
Master’s Degree in Education or English
Understanding of Common Core Standards and Advanced Placement
Experience with English Language Learners
USA state teacher certification
Proffesioanl developement allowance

Role Specific Responsibilities:
Teaches assigned ELA courses
Collaborates with department, high school team, and administration around student progress
Prepares students for AP exams
Completes and implements effective lessons and teaching strategies
Follows grading policies
Uses data from NWEA MAP and benchmark assessments to guide instruction and support students
Follows the curriculum map and standards for each course and grade level
Prepares students for university-level English in reading and writing
Follows discipline system and uses PBIS, Love & Logic, and Restorative Practices
Other duties and courses as assigned
