About the British International School of Kurdistan (BISK)

The British International School of Kurdistan (BISK) is a leading private school located in the vibrant city of Erbil, in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq. Established in 2011, BISK was founded with a clear mission: to provide a world-class British-style education that fosters academic excellence, global citizenship, and holistic development.

Since our founding, BISK has grown into a dynamic and inclusive school community, welcoming students from over 20 nationalities. We follow the British curriculum and are a registered Pearson Edexcel centre, offering internationally recognised qualifications. From Year 10 onwards, students have the option to pursue either the British stream, including IGCSEs and A Levels, or the American stream, allowing for flexibility in academic pathways. Our programme also celebrates the cultural heritage of our host region through dedicated Arabic and Kurdish language instruction.

BISK is a forward-thinking school with a strong commitment to continuous improvement. We are currently undergoing the CIS accreditation process and have recently become an accredited Real Madrid Academy School, offering elite football training as part of our wider Sports Academy.

Our campus features modern, well-equipped facilities including science laboratories, ICT suites, creative arts spaces, and extensive sports grounds. More than just a school, BISK is a caring and supportive community where students are encouraged to grow into confident, responsible, and compassionate individuals.
