Position Summary
Cap Cana Heritage School is seeking a dynamic and passionate Secondary Science Teacher to join our middle and high school faculty for the 2025–2026 school year. The ideal candidate will inspire curiosity and critical thinking in students through hands-on learning, real-world connections, and interdisciplinary approaches to science.
This position includes teaching high school (grades 9–12) science courses, including but not limited to General Science, Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Science, and/or Physics, depending on experience and departmental needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement engaging, standards-aligned science lessons that promote inquiry, experimentation, and evidence-based reasoning
- Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learner needs and language backgrounds
- Foster a student-centered classroom culture that encourages collaboration, discussion, and curiosity
- Integrate appropriate technology and lab-based experiences into daily instruction
- Collaborate with science and interdisciplinary teams to support curriculum alignment and school-wide goals
- Communicate regularly with students, families, and colleagues to ensure academic and social-emotional growth
- Participate in professional development, school events, and extracurricular programs
- Support the school’s mission, vision, and commitment to student achievement and character education
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Science Education, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or a related field
- Valid teaching certification/license (or equivalent) for secondary science
- Minimum 2 years of teaching experience in middle or high school science
- Familiarity with NGSS, inquiry-based instruction, and interdisciplinary teaching
- Experience working in international or bilingual environments preferred
- Strong classroom management, communication, and organizational skills
- Fluency in English
