School Principal

Professional qualities and experience:
MTK seeks a School Principal to advise students and parents on university options and decisions. In this role, essentially a School Principal with varied responsibilities, help
students with private school or college admissions, or is tasked with assisting students who have specialized educational needs or learning disabilities. In any case, School
Principals advise them on the opportunities that best meet their educational goals or needs. The ideal candidate is highly qualified with a master's degree in education, educational leadership, or educational administration, has school experience, excellent communication and leadership skills, is proactive, knows when to take risks, and is passionate about what he/she does.

The successful applicant will be a highly capable, modern practitioner.

The key duties can be summarised as follows:

• Provide a clear vision for learning for all students; ensure a safe, secure, and orderly learning environment.
• Leading the School Stage Leaders across the Preschool, Primary, and Secondary pillars, mainly focusing on High school.
• Leading the expatriate teachers’ recruitment for international education.
• Providing students and parents with university counseling and leading the university entrance process
• Providing ongoing gap analysis and advice to the SLT on academic and operational problems that impede the school’s effectiveness.
• Led the appraisal of expatriate teachers’ appraisal; determining if they’ve achieved their core Job Description and KPIs and the level of annual bonus payments.
• Acting as a liaison between the academic staff and SLT/Board
• Leading recruitment of all local teachers who deliver Preschool, Primary, and International Stream Secondary programs.
• To support Preschool, Primary, and Secondary Stage Leaders in compiling annual academic materials orders that effectively address any gaps in resourcing and support teaching and learning.
• To further the ambition to become a hub for student wellbeing, supporting the Heads of Section, the Pastoral Coordinators for Primary and Secondary, and the work of the Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Coordinator.
• To start and lead the process of CIS/COBIS accreditation.

About School
The school is in Baku, Azerbaijan, and has a campus in the heart of the country’s capital. A prestigious local private school educating the children of the country’s business elite. The school offers a blended Cambridge and Azerbaijani-instruction curriculum.
The school is comprised of a bilingual Preschool for ages 2-6, a bilingual Primary School for ages 6-11 (Grades 1-5), and a three-stream Secondary school for ages 11-18 (Grades
6-12), which incorporates an international stream (offering Cambridge IGCSE and AS/ A-Levels) and two local curriculum streams where the language of instruction is Azerbaijani and Russian respectively. The pupil roll is around 750 in total. The school employs an expatriate staff comprised of fifteen fully certified teachers across the Preschool, Primary school, and Secondary school.

Contract Term: Annually renewable (open for negotiation)
