Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic English Teacher to teach students from Year 7 to Year 13, including IGCSE and A Level English Language and Literature. The ideal candidate will be passionate about language and literature, able to inspire students to think critically, express themselves with confidence, and develop a love for reading and writing.
Key Responsibilities
- Curriculum Delivery: Plan and deliver engaging English lessons aligned with the Cambridge IGCSE and A Level curriculum.
- Literature & Language Mastery: Teach a range of texts, genres, and writing styles to develop students’ analytical and creative writing skills.
- Assessment & Feedback: Design assessments, monitor progress, and provide constructive feedback to support student achievement.
- Differentiation: Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet the diverse learning needs of all students.
- Classroom Culture: Build a positive, inclusive, and respectful classroom environment that encourages participation and collaboration.
- Student Development: Support students in developing communication, critical thinking, and language fluency skills for academic success.
- Collaboration: Work with colleagues in the English and Humanities departments to ensure curriculum coherence and enrichment opportunities.
- Co-Curricular Involvement: Contribute to literary clubs, drama activities, competitions, or school events that enhance the learning experience.
- Parent & Community Communication: Maintain open and effective communication with parents about student progress and classroom activities.
- Professional Growth: Participate in ongoing professional development and contribute to the wider school community.
