Full Job Description

High School Teacher

Responsibilities:

Course Planning and Delivery:

• Develop course overviews and lesson plans aligned with Ontario curriculum expectations, incorporating interactive and engaging teaching methods.
• Include peer activities, teamwork, and real-world applications to enhance student learning.

Student Support and Documentation:

• Provide essential resources such as vocabulary lists, citation guides, learning skills charts, and research project guidelines.
• Offer tailored support by assessing individual learning needs and strengths, using strategic teaching approaches to foster growth.

Assessment and Feedback:

• Design and evaluate assignments, quizzes, exams, and projects to assess student performance.
• Track progress and provide constructive feedback to help students meet academic criteria.

Classroom Management and Engagement:

• Create a positive, interactive teaching environment that inspires students to learn and participate actively.
• Foster trust-based relationships with students, parents, and staff through open communication.

Collaboration and Professionalism:

• Work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and administration to develop teaching plans and assess student progress.
• Commit to excellence and adhere to course deadlines, policies, and expectations.

Commitment to Excellence:

• Demonstrate passion, patience, and responsibility in teaching diverse learners worldwide, ensuring academic and personal growth.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s Degree (Required)

Language: English (Required)

• Ontario Certified Teachers preferred but will consider teaching candidates with at least one year of professional, successful teaching experience in Science/Mathematics/Humanities/English-related subjects.
• Must be familiar with the Ministry of Education Curriculum and Growing Success.
• With an enthusiastic and positive attitude, be highly responsible, self-motivated
• Be passionate about teaching and be able to inspire our students.
• Be able to help students with diverse educational backgrounds and learning abilities.
