Job Description

Position: Primary School Counselor

School Type: IB (International Baccalaureate)
Location: Al Khor, Qatar

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide counseling services to primary school students to support their academic, social, and emotional development.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and administrators to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Develop and implement programs that promote student well-being and mental health.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in counseling practices.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree (minimum 3 years) in Counseling, Psychology, Education, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of full-time experience as a school counselor or in a similar role.
  • Language: Bilingual (Arabic & English) – mandatory.
  • Certification: Any relevant counseling certification or license is highly preferred.
  • Familiarity with IB curriculum and international school environment is an advantage.

Skills

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Empathy, cultural sensitivity, and problem-solving abilities.
