Position Overview
The High School English Language Arts Teacher designs and delivers engaging instruction to develop literacy skills, analytical thinking, and effective communication. The teacher creates an inclusive classroom where English learners and advanced students grow as readers, writers, and thinkers.
Primary Responsibilities
· Design and implement engaging lessons aligned with U.S. Common Core Standards for reading, writing, speaking, listening, and language.
· Cultivate a student-centered classroom that values curiosity, creativity, and collaboration.
· Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of English language learners and students at varying proficiency levels.
· Integrate project-based learning, discussions, and authentic assessments to promote deep understanding.
· Provide meaningful feedback to guide student growth as writers and communicators.
· Collaborate with cross-departmental colleagues and the ESL team to support literacy development.
· Maintain close communication with parents, counselors, and administrators to ensure student well-being.
· Participate in professional learning and contribute to school-wide programs that support our mission and community.
· Supervise and engage with students during school events, activities, and field experiences.
