Art Teacher

Job Summary:

The Art Teacher is responsible for developing students' interest and ability in creative expression through visual arts. This position involves planning and delivering engaging lessons in drawing, painting, sculpture, and other art forms, aligned with the school's curriculum standards. The teacher fosters a supportive environment that encourages students to explore their creativity and build skills in art appreciation and production.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement a curriculum that meets state and national standards for visual arts education.
• Plan and deliver lessons in a variety of visual art forms including drawing, painting, sculpture, ceramics, mixed media, and digital art (if applicable).
• Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages artistic expression and respects diverse perspectives.
• Organize student art displays and participate in school exhibitions, art shows, and competitions.
• Assess student progress through assignments, projects, and portfolios; provide constructive feedback.
• Maintain a safe and orderly classroom with proper use and storage of art materials.
• Collaborate with other teachers and staff on interdisciplinary projects and school-wide initiatives.
• Stay current with developments in art education and integrate new techniques and technologies where appropriate.
• Communicate regularly with parents/guardians about student progress.
• Perform other duties as assigned by school leadership.
