Additional Requirement:

To get approval from the concerned authorities. A copy of the highest educational degree, qualifications (Bachelors/Masters/Higher Education Diploma) and birth certificate should be Notarised and Apostilled by the official entities in the candidate's home country and attested by the Omani Embassy in the candidate's home country. A NOC has to be provided from your present employers and a police verification report from the Royal Oman Police in Qurum needs to be provided. 

Benefits: for international teachers 

  • Tax Free Salary* as per the existing laws of the Sultanate of Oman. In case at any point in time, a personal income tax is levied, the employee will need to pay the same
  • Medical Insurance for employees only, EXCLUDING Dental and Prescription glass
  • Annual Airfare to hometown in Economy class for the employee, spouse and two children up to 18 years if they are on the school visa and staying with the employee
  • Relocation airfare provided at the beginning and end of contract for employee, spouse and two children up to 18 years
  • Relocation allowance provided only for the employee at beginning and end of contract for additional 20 kgs over and above the airline's free baggage allowance 
  • Annual Leave: 45 days total annual paid leave for candidates with a 2-year contract   
  •  30 days for candidates with less than 2-year contract          
  •  Candidates who start in January: 45 days full paid leave at the end of the second contract
  • Dependent’s School Fees: Children of teachers will be eligible to get a 50% subsidy on the tuition fees if studying in Paradise Valley Private School
  • The Visa/medical fees done in Oman will be paid in full for employees only. For dependents, the employee has to bear the expenses   
  • End of Service Benefits: For every 2 years of full service, the school will pay 1 months' basic salary as gratuity      
  • The employer will arrange for the employee to be picked up from the airport on arrival and taken to a guest house/ service apartment where they will be put up for a maximum period of one month, during which they will have to finalise their accommodation with the help of the school authorities

 

* The salary package is Cost to Company(CTC) - Tax free salary inclusive of HRA / Utilities, Lunch and Transport. If choose to stay in company provided accommodation then HRA  would be deducted from the CTC

Scope of Work

The IB Primary Years Teacher supports the PYP Coordinator in building and maintaining a high quality PYP programme in the school. He/ She is responsible for providing an inclusive and safe learning - teaching environment for the students where the process of inquiry is encouraged.

 

Responsibilities

  • Design, prepare and deliver high quality lessons to suit the individual needs of all students in line with the PYP requirements and which contribute to the Five Areas of Development
  • Inspire mixed culture and mixed ability classes, by creating challenging and engaging learning opportunities for all students 
  • Create challenging and engaging learning opportunities for all students in a mixed culture and mixed ability classes
  • Assess and monitor student progress and at the same time encourage students to set their own targets so that they become self-regulated learners 
  • Collaborate with other teachers to share ideas, approaches and create new knowledge
  • Communicate accurately and regularly with parents
  • Liaise with the Head of Elementary School and PYP Coordinator to ensure effective delivery of the curriculum to specified classes, including selecting resources and managing them efficiently in the classroom
  • Contribute to the enrichment programmes for students and participate in  all school activities 
  • Being constantly aware of the needs of any children to whom English is another language
  • Ensuring consistent implementation of school policies and appropriate practices in the primary years programme
  • Ensure that all assessments, other evidence and recording of student's work are kept up to date and according to IBO requirements
