Scope of Work

  • Provide quality school-based Physical therapy services -
  • Improve, develop, restore or maintain a child’s sensory motor function in inclusive educational environment assessment/evaluation
  • IEP planning and implementation
  • Documentation and reporting and communication between teachers, related service providers, and families.
  • A full-time position working with students individually and in general education inclusion classrooms as a member of the team promoting inclusive education



  • In identification of physical impairments/delays
  • To provide intervention-including but not limited to:
    • Facilitation of developmental motor skills
    • Postural awareness, ambulation and gait training
    • Sensorimotor processing
    • Cardiovascular function
    • Wheelchair mobility
    • Adaptation or modification of equipment
    • Recommendation and monitoring or orthoses and other assistive devices
    • Prevention of initial or additional deformity or disability via early intervention and transportation needs of students
  • To conduct appropriate evaluation of students referred for related services and prepare written reports of the evaluations and findings
  • To participate in the development of IEP
  • To provide direct and indirect physical therapy in educational settings/least restrictive environments to children
  • To collaborate with other school personnel regarding physical therapy and the students’ needs
  • To work alongside teachers, parents and paraprofessionals
  • To train/instruct teachers, parents and paraprofessionals in techniques and equipment use
  • To maintain records of service provided
  • Attend staff meetings, in- service training, and continuing education courses as appropriate or required
  • Support the Head of Inclusion and the team for creating a successful inclusion programme in the school

  • 30 days for candidates with less than 2 year contract
  • Candidates who start in January: 45 days full paid leave at the end of the second contract
  • Dependent’s School Fees : Children of teachers will be eligible to get a 50% subsidy on the tuition fees, if studying in Paradise Valley Private School
  • The Visa/medical fees done in Oman will be paid in full  for employees only. For dependents, employee has to bear the expenses
  • End of Service Benefits: For each 2 years of full service, school will pay 1 months basic salary as gratuity
  • The employer will arrange for the employee to be picked up from the airport on arrival and taken to a guest house/ service apartment where they will be put up for a maximum period of one month, during which they will have to finalise their accomodation with the help of the school authorities
  • * The salary package is Cost to Company(CTC) - Tax free salary inclusive of HRA / Utilities, Lunch and Transport. If choose to stay in company provided accommodation then HRA  would be deducted from the CTC

Qualifications and Requirements

Other Certification
Physical Therapy from an accredited program. Licensed to Physical Therapist
  • Licensed to Physical Therapy
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a Physical therapist in an IB/ international school with preschoolers and elementary aged children
  • Past work experience at an Inclusion school preferred
  • Native English speaker preferred
  • Proficiency in Arabic and/or any additional language is an advantage



  • Demonstrate an advanced understanding of the needs of students with cerebral palsy, autism, developmental delay, specific learning disabilities, and behavior disorders.
  • Knowledge of Physical therapy theories and evidence based practice
  • Preferred knowledge in Sensory Integration theory and practices
  • Have the ability to recognise physical impairments/delays and be able to select, adapt, and sequence relevant activities that support intervention goals
  • Be able to gather screening and evaluation data, complete checklists, histories, and interviews
  • Have the ability to prepare and maintain accurate records and progress notes
  • Be a strong advocate for inclusion
  • Demonstrate strong skills in partnering with families
  • Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with a diverse group of colleagues, parents, families, and community members
  • Be committed to meeting the needs of a diverse student population
