About American University of Iraq - Baghdad AUIB

The new American University of Iraq – Baghdad (AUIB)  opened in the Spring of 2021 and is now hiring ELA Instructors for its English Language Academy.

AUIB began as a dream of influential individuals in Iraqi and United States business, industry, and government who want to see a world-class institution of higher learning established in the city, reminiscent of the days when Baghdad was an educational mecca and flourishing capital of the Muslim world.

With a grand library, palatial college buildings and student centers, state-of-the-art classrooms, laboratories, and athletic facilities, AUIB will be a beautiful campus attracting students, faculty, and staff from throughout the world.  We invite you to join us in this exciting new venture.

Vision

The vision of AUIB is to become a comprehensive university, internationally recognized for research and teaching, thought leaders on contemporary issues that benefit the public and preserve the heritage and culture of Iraq, while preparing entrepreneurial, innovative graduates to meet the demands and the challenges of Iraq’s economic and social development in an increasingly dynamic and diverse world.

Mission

The mission of AUIB is to serve Iraq and the world, through the spirit of free and broad inquiry, by supporting research and teaching on local and global issues, forming academic partnerships with top universities and international organizations, and creating an American-style, technology-enhanced curriculum that enables graduates to pursue careers and civic engagement that will, in turn, shape the future of Iraq and the region.
