About the Campus

Opening in the fall of 2026, BASIS Bilingual School Beijing brings our renowned curriculum to the capital of China. The school will open with grades Pre-K through 9 and grow to become a Pre-K through Grade 12 school with a capacity of 2,300 students, and boarding facilities for 800 students.

BASIS Bilingual School Beijing is located on the north side of Anfu Street in Houshayu, Shunyi District, Beijing. As one of Beijing's key new urban developments, Shunyi is a hub for international education and an attractive location for foreign teachers. The area is surrounded by multiple high-level residential and expat communities, creating a rich cross-cultural atmosphere.

The campus covers an area of 100,000 square meters, with a total construction area of approximately 70,000 square meters and a total investment of 1.1 billion RMB. Designed by a prestigious international design firm, BASIS Bilingual School Beijing features a future-oriented design philosophy that blends aesthetics and functionality. The school's construction follows the same outstanding level of quality BASIS International & Bilingual Schools is known for, and is equipped with state-of-the-art spaces for learning, athletics, and performances. Facilities include a theater, cafeteria, gymnasium, standard classrooms, laboratories, specialized classrooms for arts and music, a full-sized 400m running track, two black box theaters, a heated swimming pool, and a lecture hall.

Living in Beijing

Our school is located in Shunyi, a residential community northeast of the city center that is popular with international families and teachers. Here you will find parks, high-quality healthcare, modern malls, and a diverse range of international restaurants. You will also find Western grocery stores like Jenny Lou's and April Gourmet that stock imported goods, and like much of China, getting your favorite meal, groceries, or household items delivered to your door is fast and easy.

Shunyi is well connected to the city center by Beijing's extensive metro system, making it easy to explore the capital or its outlying areas. You can spend a Saturday hiking a section of the Great Wall, losing yourself in the ancient hutong alleyways, or walking in the vast courtyards of the Forbidden City. For a taste of modern Beijing, explore the art galleries in the 798 Art District or enjoy world-class shopping and nightlife in the Sanlitun district.

When you want to go further afield, the Beijing airport is practically in your backyard. And with China's largest high-speed rail hub just a metro ride away, you can be in Shanghai for the weekend or exploring the Terracotta Warriors in Xi'an in just a few hours.
