Science Teacher
Job Purpose:
To deliver engaging and effective science instruction that supports students’ academic growth, critical thinking, and curiosity, in alignment with the school curriculum and educational standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver science lessons in accordance with curriculum requirements
- Teach scientific concepts clearly using practical experiments, demonstrations, and inquiry-based learning
- Assess, record, and report students’ progress using appropriate assessment tools
- Create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom and laboratory environment
- Develop lesson plans, worksheets, and instructional materials
- Support students with different learning needs and abilities
- Maintain classroom discipline and promote positive behavior
- Participate in parent-teacher meetings, staff meetings, and school events
- Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum planning and interdisciplinary activities
- Ensure proper use and care of laboratory equipment and materials
- Comply with school policies, safeguarding procedures, and health & safety guidelines
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Science or Education (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or related field)
- Teaching certification (preferred or required, depending on school policy)
- Previous teaching experience is an advantage
- Strong subject knowledge and classroom management skills
Skills & Competencies:
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Ability to motivate and inspire students
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Classroom management and student engagement skills
- Proficiency in using educational technology
