Responsibilities of the post of Curriculum Coordinator:

  • To create thought-provoking and impactful learning and teaching technologies in collaboration with our teachers and students. This is based on a blend of technology and cognitive science, sparking innovative solutions.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate all aspects of the curriculum. In collaboration with the curriculum committees, revise the curriculum annually. Conduct curriculum review sessions quarterly.
  • Lead in the articulation and interpretation of curriculum across grades and subject areas and ensure the availability of resources for curriculum improvement.
  • Collaborate to design and guide the implementation of a comprehensive grades 9-12 curriculum mapping plan that includes academic standards, intervention classes, tutorial classes, activities and projects, and others.
  • Coach teachers as per the Instructional Coaching Policy, at least 4 hours per day, in the effective implementation of the school program, curriculum, and learning strategies, and monitor and observe teachers on their use of these strategies.
  • Monitor and evaluate the quality of teaching and learning across subjects through results analysis, formal and informal observations, and instructional coaching outcomes to ensure excellent student progress and achievement of curriculum standards.
  • Assists and advises in the development of curriculum elements such as assessments, resources, lesson plans, and others.
  • Take part rigorously and effectively in the school’s monitoring and evaluation cycle, ensuring deadlines are met, results are shared, and appropriate action is taken.
  • Continuously evaluate both the appropriateness of the curriculum and the quality of the curriculum development program. Monitor the usage and effectiveness of Atlas and submit monthly progress reports.
  • Ensure curriculum compliance with MOE curriculum for Arabic, Islamic Education, and Social Studies, as well as Massachusetts State standards for all other subjects.
  • Ensure implementation and usage of online platforms, e.g., Atlas, Steplab, and others, and manage resources.
  • Conduct training and monitor usage.
  • Develop, coordinate, facilitate, and monitor school-wide continuous professional development.
  • Recommend to the Principal the addition of new courses, including electives, and oversee the curriculum development of these courses.
  • Collaborate with the SENCO to ensure that the curriculum provides learning opportunities for all groups of students.
  • Recommend and deploy all best practices according to the latest trends wherever applicable in the curriculum.
  • Support improvement and innovation.
  • Plan and organize grade-level/subject events and exhibitions according to the school’s academic calendar
  • Attend staff meetings and serve on committees as required.
