Job Description

Supervises Textbook Review Process:  All K - 12 books

Monitor, Update, Align Curriculum: All subjects:  Middle School & High School

  • Atlas: Monitors (in collaboration with Principals, VPs, HODs) the input of lesson plans, curricula documents, assessments
  • Facilitates Curricula Vertical & Horizontal alignment for core subjects
  • Facilitate data review of internal and external assessments
  • Facilitates proper design and review of annual plans and lesson plans
  • Create and revise curriculum and teaching policies


Instructional Coach: Middle & High School

  • Work closely with HOD’s, Principals, VPs, and the Quality Assurance specialist to enforce school lesson implementation expectations
  • Collaborate with the Student Support Coordinator to ensure proper alignment of instruction with our Tier 2 and 3 students. 
  • Professional development for teachers on best instructional best practices
  • Co-teaching with teachers to model instructional best practices
  • Collaborate and mentor the Instructional coaches from Elementary school to develop unified practices
  • Monitoring of lessons plans, assessments, and curricular documents
  • Monitoring of lesson implementation to include informal observations and coaching
  • Review of Assessments for tiered questioning and activities
  • Improve capacity of HODs to further train their departments
  • Collaborate with core academic departments to design fun activities that augment instruction outside of the regular classroom
  • Other duties as assigned by School Management

The Modern Knowledge Schools, founded by Ms. Parween Kazerooni in 1995, is a privately owned K-12 American school located in the Juffair area of Bahrain.

The curriculum is American and all instruction is in English except the required Arabic Language, Islamic Religion, and Arabic Social Studies. In addition to the American curriculum, the school is authorized to offer the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program for students in Grades 11 and 12.

There are four separate schools with a population of over 2400 students, 72% host country nationals and the remainder international. Our curriculum is delivered by an enthusiastic, forward-thinking, and energetic faculty to multicultural instructional groups.

As an American curriculum school, MKS is committed to hiring experienced and certified staff members from the U.S. and Canada to teach the core subjects of Math, English, Science, and Social Studies. However, we are also committed to a strong Arabic studies curriculum that is taught by experienced Arab teachers.
