Ajyal International School MBZ is an inclusive, high-performing ENC school with exceptional academic outcomes, located in Mohammed Bin Zayed City, Abu Dhabi. With 1,540 students from FS1 to Year 13, representing 22 nationalities, we are a truly international community.

In October 2024, we were graded Very Good by the Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (ADEK). We are scheduled to complete our first BSO inspection in June 2026.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed Early Years Teacher (Reception) to join our thriving EYFS team.

We follow the 2014 National Curriculum of England alongside the 2025 EYFS Statutory Framework and offer GCSE, iGCSE, iAS and iA Levels through Cambridge, AQA and Edexcel.

We are currently working towards BSO accreditation, which will enable us to offer a UK-recognised ECT induction programme in partnership with ESP Education from August 2026.

The Role

The successful candidate will:

  • Deliver high-quality, play-based Early Years provision
  • Inspire a love of learning from the earliest stages
  • Create a warm, nurturing and safe environment for our youngest children
  • Contribute to the continued development of the Early Years department
  • Support curriculum innovation and enrichment
  • Play an active role in the wider school community

This role is suitable for Early Career Teachers (ECTs) as well as experienced practitioners.

Required Qualifications

One of the following:

  • A BEd in Early Childhood or Primary Education with a recognised teaching licence (e.g. QTS or equivalent)


A Bachelor’s Degree in Education (e.g. BEd Science) plus:

  • A recognised teaching qualification e.g. PGCE/PGDE in Early Childhood or Primary Education, or
  • A recognised teaching licence e.g. QTS or equivalent in Early Childhood or Primary Education, or
  • One year of documented teaching experience in Early Childhood or Primary Education


A Bachelor’s Degree in any specialism plus:

  • A recognised teaching qualification in Early Childhood or Primary Education (e.g. PGCE/PGDE), or
  • A recognised teaching licence in Early Childhood or Primary Education (e.g. QTS or equivalent)


A Bachelor’s Degree in any specialism plus:

  • A recognised teaching qualification e.g. PGCE or PGDE in any subject and two years of documented teaching experience in Early Childhood or Primary Education, or
  • A recognised teaching licence e.g. QTS in any subject and two years of documented teaching experience in Early Childhood or Primary Education


In line with ADEK regulations, post-qualification experience is no longer mandatory.

Two supporting references and a recent police clearance that is less than 3 months old will be required, if successful.

Candidates who have trained or worked in the UK require two supporting references, Basic DBS and ICPC that are less than three months old
