Job Description

Jet International School is a growing international educational institution in Ulaanbaatar dedicated to delivering high-quality education through the integration of the Mongolian National Curriculum and internationally recognized programs such as the Cambridge International Curriculum and the International Primary Curriculum (IPC). Key Responsibilities


1. Program Leadership & Development

  • Lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of the school’s English Language Acquisition (ELA) program.
  • Develop a structured EAL/ELLframework aligned with Cambridge standards and the school’s academic vision.
  • Ensure vertical progression of English proficiency from Primary through Secondary levels.


2. Student Identification & Support

  • Oversee English proficiency screening and placement processes for new and current students.
  • Develop individualized language support plans for EAL students.
  • Monitor student progress using standardized benchmarks and internal assessments.
  • Coordinate targeted intervention programs for students requiring additional language support.


3. Curriculum & Instructional Support

  • Provide guidance and resources to teachers on strategies for supporting multilingual learners in mainstream classrooms.
  • Promote effective scaffolding, differentiation, and language-integrated instruction across subject areas.
  • Support integration of academic language development within content subjects.


4. Staff Training & Professional Development

  • Lead professional development sessions focused on EAL strategies and inclusive teaching practices.
  • Mentor teachers in implementing language support strategies.
  • Collaborate with academic leaders to strengthen whole-school language policy implementation.


5. Assessment & Reporting

  • Establish clear English proficiency benchmarks and tracking systems.
  • Maintain accurate records of student language development.
  • Prepare reports for parents and leadership regarding EAL student progress.
  • Support data-driven decision-making related to language acquisition programs.


6. Parent & Community Engagement

  • Communicate effectively with parents regarding student language development and support strategies.
  • Provide guidance to families on how to support English development at home.
  • Promote a culturally responsive and inclusive learning environment.


7. Policy & Compliance

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of the school’s Language Policy.
  • Ensure alignment of ELA practices with international best practices and accreditation standards.
  • Support the school’s long-term strategic goals related to global competencies and academic excellence.

Additional School Requirements:

A. Educational Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education (BEd, BEEd, BSEd) or a Bachelor’s degree aligned with the subject specialization (e.g., BS Mathematics, BA English, BS Biology, BS Computer Science).
  • Master’s degree (MA/MEd) preferred but not required.
  • Strong academic standing or academic honors is an advantage.


B. Licenses, Eligibility, and Certifications

  • Valid teaching license or professional teaching certification from the applicant’s home country.
  • Relevant professional certifications where applicable (e.g., TESOL, TEFL, IELTS Trainer Certification for English teachers).
  • Early Childhood Education certification (for Grade 1-2 positions).
  • First Aid certification preferred but not required.
  • Digital literacy certification preferred but not required.


C. Relevant Teaching Experience

  • Minimum of three (3) years classroom teaching experience, preferably in private or international school settings.
  • Experience working with diverse learners, including SEN/inclusive classrooms or multi-grade environments (preferred). 
  • Experience teaching English Language Learners (including zero-proficiency students).
  • Experience working as an English Language Acquisition (ELA) Teacher and/or Coordinator.


D. Training and Professional Development

Documented participation in professional trainings, seminars, and workshops related to:

  • Classroom management
  • Child safeguarding
  • Assessment for learning
  • Differentiated instruction
  • International curricula (Cambridge, IB, IPC/IMYC, etc.)
  • Digital teaching platforms and learning management systems


E. Pedagogical Competence

Applicants should demonstrate proficiency in:

  • Instructional planning and effective lesson delivery
  • Active and student-centered learning methodologies
  • Student engagement strategies
  • Formative and summative assessment practices
  • Classroom management and positive discipline approaches
  • Meaningful integration of educational technology
  • Understanding of child development principles


F. Digital Literacy

  • Proficiency in digital productivity tools (Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, LMS platforms, and educational applications).
  • Ability to design interactive multimedia instructional materials.
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted teaching tools, e-learning systems, robotics, and coding applications.
  • Understanding of safe, responsible, and ethical technology use in the classroom.


G. Reference check 

Submission of at least two (2) professional recommendation letters is required, one of which must be issued by the applicant’s current immediate supervisor from the school where the applicant is presently employed.
