Westview Cambodian Jungle International School is a leading international school in Cambodia offering classes from grade 6 to 12 in continuation from Learning Jungle International School (preschool up to grade 5). Westview's mission is to empower individual learners with global competencies and Cambodian values, in order to succeed and positively impact their local and global communities. The school and its faculty members are working hard toward getting international accreditations from WASC and CIS. The Secondary teachers report to the Program Coordinator in charge of the International Curriculum, adopted from the American standards of education.

Responsibilities:

Pedagogy and Instruction

  • Apply the most up-to-date, researched-based strategies to address the needs of diverse learners. 
  • Create learning situations where skills, content, and tasks are relevant, realistic, and authentic.  
  • Promote active learning and inquiry. 
  • Use inclusive strategies so that all learners can access the curriculum and make progress.
  • Promote self-regulation and independent learning. 
  • Share and exchange on the organization of lessons using pedagogical technologies. 
  • Conduct peer observation once a semester.
  • Collaborate with the school leadership team in implementing the pedagogical approach to promote high-quality teaching and learning in alignment with the school goals, vision, and mission
  • Checking written assignments, examination papers, and homework.
  • Work with students based on their interests and abilities. 
  • Work with low-performing students. 
  • Prepare materials for classes. 
  • Participate in meetings and PD.
  • Participate in parents’ meetings.
  • Participate in school events.

Curriculum Design

  • Demonstrate a high level of relevant curriculum knowledge.
  • Base planning and assessment on the learning goals of the curriculum.

Building Learning-Focused Relationships and Culture for Learning

  • Plan, develop, and deliver learning experiences that address learners with a variety of language and learning needs.
  • Have excellent communication and teamwork skills that result in effective co-planning and co-teaching. 
  • Be a confident user of technology to transform learning.

Westview Cambodian International School is a great extension to secondary education from grades 6 to 12 by the passionate leadership team of Learning Jungle International School offering educational services only from preschool to grade 6. With the strong support from parents, students, staff, and the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport, Westview Cambodian International School was created to offer an International Secondary program built from the world-renowned American Standards of education and the Khmer language, history, and culture into one unique curriculum from grades 6 to 12.
