Job Description

Position Overview

KSI Bratislava is seeking a knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and student-centered Geography Teacher to teach students from Year 9 to Year 13, including Cambridge IGCSE, AS, and A Level Geography. The ideal candidate will inspire students to understand physical and human geography, global issues, environmental relationships, and the interconnectedness of our world. The teacher will guide students in developing strong analytical, research, and fieldwork skills while fostering a curious and globally aware mindset.

Key Responsibilities

  • Curriculum Delivery: Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality Geography lessons aligned with IGCSE, AS, and A Level standards.
  • Instructional Excellence: Use diverse teaching strategies to build students’ knowledge of physical, human, and environmental geography.
  • Assessment & Feedback: Design and administer formative and summative assessments; provide clear, constructive feedback to support student achievement.
  • Fieldwork & Inquiry: Organize and guide geographical investigations, fieldwork, and practical activities in line with Cambridge curriculum expectations.
  • Differentiation: Adjust instruction to meet varied learning needs and ensure all students are supported and appropriately challenged.
  • Academic Progress Monitoring: Track student performance, maintain accurate records, and support students in achieving their academic goals.
  • Classroom Environment: Establish a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment that promotes curiosity and respect.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the Humanities Department to ensure curriculum alignment and contribute to interdisciplinary learning opportunities.
  • Co-Curricular Engagement: Support or lead geography-related clubs, competitions, trips, and research projects.
  • Communication: Maintain professional communication with parents and guardians regarding student progress and development.
  • Professional Development: Participate in school-wide training sessions and ongoing professional learning to enhance teaching practice.

  • Minimum 2 years of Geography teaching experience, preferably in an international school setting.
  • Experience teaching Cambridge IGCSE and AS/A Level Geography is required.
  • Strong understanding of geographical concepts, fieldwork methodology, and global perspectives.
  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
  • Fluency in English (native or near-native level).
