Job Description
GHA is seeking qualified and talented learner-centered educators to actively engage our learners in inquiry- and project-based learning. We are looking for an educator who is deeply committed to challenging and supporting learners to excel academically and socially – an educator who is passionate about teaching and compassionate with learners.
The position will suit a committed, enthusiastic teaching professional possessing the correct blend of moral purpose, teaching, and interpersonal and intercultural communication skills.
Responsibilities:
- Teach effectively in an exciting and challenging cross-cultural environment
- Show great individual care and support for the learners, promoting learning styles that cater to individual differences to provide engagement in rigorous, relevant, and significant learning
- Keep abreast of developments in their field by reading current literature, talking with colleagues, and participating in professional conferences
- Assess and analyze learners' progress to inform instruction and provide constructive feedback to promote learners’ progress toward standards
- Ensure that all learners have access to the appropriate tools for 21st-century learning
- Contribute to curriculum improvement, design, and integration with other subject areas
- Be a role model for learners, inspiring them to be actively interested in their learning

Job Requirements
Qualifications:
- Teaching credential/license and relevant
- Teaching experience is preferred
- International Baccalaureate experience is preferred
- Previous experience in an international school preferred
- Must be able to obtain a cleared background check
- Excellent command of the English language
- Cross-cultural communication skills and team spirit, good professional awareness
- Be diligent, active, cooperative, and adaptable, and hope to work in the international education field as a career
- MYP and DP experience is highly preferred

Green Hills Academy is an International Baccalaureate World School located in Rwanda, serving more than 2,200 learners from over 60 countries. Established in 1997 with 130 learners, GHA has grown steadily over the years. Green Hills Academy is authorized by the International Baccalaureate (IB) organization to offer the Primary Years Programme for learners in Nursery 1 to Grade 5, the Middle Years Programme for learners in Grades 6 to 10, the Diploma and Career-related Programmes for learners in Grades 11 and 12. Our school is also the only school in Rwanda with Label France Education accreditation, helping learners pursue further education and careers in Francophone countries. Green Hills Academy offers two options for learners from Nursery through Middle School. Alternatively, parents can choose our bilingual French/English or 50/50 program in which learners spend approximately half their time learning in English and the other half in French.
Situated within a lush 26-acre campus in the heart of Kigali, Green Hills Academy's facilities include spacious classrooms, a gymnasium, pool, music, and band room, dining hall, soccer field, and boarding houses for learners in Grades 7 to 12.
