The entire city area is within the borders of the Ise-Shima National Park. The vast Toba Aquarium is home to dugongs and rare giant isopods. Nearby are the ruins of the 16th-century Toba Castle. The Pearl Museum traces the history of local pearl cultivation. Tōshijima Island is renowned for its seafood. On nearby Kami-shima Island, trails lead to Shinto shrines and a lighthouse.
