Whole School Librarian (PK–12)

Rabat, Morocco | August 2026 Start

English & Soft Skills is recruiting on behalf of one of our prestigious international school clients in Rabat for a Whole School Librarian (PK–12).

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and innovative librarian who is passionate about fostering a lifelong love of reading, developing students’ information literacy skills, and leading a modern Library and Learning Commons that supports learning across all grade levels.

About the Role

The Whole School Librarian will provide strategic leadership for the school’s library programme, overseeing its daily operations while driving its long-term development. The successful candidate will create an engaging and inclusive learning environment that empowers students and collaborates closely with teachers to enrich teaching and learning across the curriculum.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the strategic development and day-to-day management of the Library and Learning Commons.
  • Curate and manage a diverse collection of print and digital resources aligned with an international PK–12 curriculum.
  • Design and deliver information literacy, research, and digital citizenship programmes across all grade levels.
  • Collaborate with teachers to integrate library resources and inquiry skills into classroom learning.
  • Manage library technologies, databases, cataloguing systems, and annual acquisitions.
  • Supervise, mentor, and support library staff.
  • Organise engaging library events, author visits, book fairs, and literacy initiatives that inspire a culture of reading.
  • Build strong relationships with publishers, resource providers, and educational partners.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Education, Library Science, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a school library or media centre (international school experience is highly desirable).
  • Strong leadership, organisational, and project management skills.
  • Experience using library management systems, digital resources, and educational technology.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with students, staff, and families.
  • A passion for literacy, inquiry-based learning, and creating engaging educational experiences.
