Lead the design and implementation of the MYP curriculum in alignment with the IB scope and sequence, ensuring it meets the academic and developmental needs of students.

Serve as acting Head of Secondary in the absence of the Head of Secondary, maintaining continuity in leadership and operations.
Complete all tasks as directed by the Head of Secondary and the senior leadership team.

Coordinate the development of interdisciplinary units that foster connections between subjects and engage students in inquiry-based learning.
Ensure that the curriculum is planned to meet the needs of diverse learners and is aligned with the MYP’s objectives and criteria.
Provide guidance to teachers on effective unit planning, including the use of inquiry-based learning strategies, formative and summative assessments, and cross-curricular connections.
Lead regular reviews of the MYP Programme of Inquiry (POI), making sure it is up-to-date, dynamic, and reflective of current best practices in education.
Collaborate with teachers to ensure assessment practices are aligned with MYP guidelines, and provide support in developing formative and summative assessments that reflect the learning goals and criteria of the MYP framework.
Monitor the alignment of teaching and learning strategies with the MYP’s focus on developing inquiry, critical thinking, and global citizenship skills.
Teaching and Learning
Promote best practices in teaching and learning, ensuring that the school’s teaching staff are informed about and adhere to the MYP framework and its principles.
Hold regular meetings with subject teachers to discuss teaching strategies, curriculum implementation, and student progress.
Provide feedback and guidance to teachers on lesson plans, units, and assessments to ensure they align with the MYP standards.
Work with students, parents, and staff to address any concerns related to teaching and learning, facilitating discussions to resolve challenges and improve educational outcomes.
Make presentations to staff, students, and parents on the MYP framework, curriculum, and school-wide initiatives, as needed.
Staff Development
Assist the Head of Secondary in updating staff on changes and improvements to the MYP framework, ensuring that teachers are well-informed about the latest MYP standards and practices.
Organize and document teacher professional development activities related to MYP curriculum implementation and inquiry-based pedagogy.
Provide recommendations to staff and the administration regarding professional development opportunities that will enhance the teaching and learning experience at ILG School.
Lead workshops and training sessions on MYP-specific topics, such as interdisciplinary teaching, inquiry-based learning, and assessment strategies.
Conduct regular teacher observations and feedback sessions, providing mentorship and supporting teachers in their professional development.
Resource Management
Support teachers in identifying and using appropriate resources, materials, and technology to enhance MYP instruction and student learning.
Assist the Head of Secondary in maintaining an up-to-date inventory of MYP materials, including textbooks, equipment, and digital resources, ensuring that all resources are well-managed and accessible.
Ensure that resources are utilized effectively and stored properly, with appropriate systems in place to track and manage materials.
Work with the Head of Secondary and other coordinators to ensure effective scheduling and space allocation for MYP classes and interdisciplinary projects.
Additional Responsibilities
Participate in leadership team meetings and collaborate with the Head of Secondary and other senior leadership team members to contribute to school-wide decision-making and strategy development.
Engage in external representation of ILG School at conferences, events, and networking opportunities related to the IB community.
Positively promote ILG School and its MYP program within the wider community, strengthening its reputation as an IB World School.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field (Master’s degree is preferred).
Teaching certification and a minimum of 2 years of experience in education
Strong understanding of the MYP framework, including curriculum design, assessment, and the IB philosophy.
Proven experience in leading curriculum development, interdisciplinary planning, and staff professional development within an IB context.
Ability to build collaborative relationships with students, parents, and staff.
Experience in mentoring and supporting teachers, fostering a culture of professional growth and excellence.
