PYP Homeroom Teacher (Grades 4–5)

(IB Primary Years Programme)

Invento the Uzbek International School is a dynamic international school in Tashkent offering the IB programmes alongside the national curriculum. We are seeking a passionate and experienced IB PYP Homeroom Teacher (Grades 4–5) to join our Primary School team and contribute to a high-quality, inquiry-driven learning environment.

This role is ideal for an educator who values conceptual learning, student agency, and inquiry-based teaching, and who enjoys working in a diverse, international community.

About the Role

The PYP Homeroom Teacher (Grades 4–5) is responsible for delivering engaging, concept-driven learning experiences that support students’ academic, social, and personal development. The successful candidate will guide students through the IB PYP framework, fostering critical thinking, collaboration, and independent learning skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach core subject areas in Grades 4–5 in line with the IB PYP framework and national curriculum requirements
  • Plan and deliver inquiry-based, concept-driven lessons through transdisciplinary Units of Inquiry
  • Support the development of students’ literacy, numeracy, research, and communication skills
  • Foster learner agency, reflection, and international-mindedness
  • Assess student learning and provide timely, meaningful feedback
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress, assessment, and documentation using Toddle (LMS)
  • Create a respectful, inclusive, and well-structured classroom environment
  • Collaborate closely with grade-level and specialist teachers to ensure curriculum alignment
  • Communicate effectively and constructively with parents regarding student progress
  • Contribute positively to the school’s academic culture and professional learning environment

Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience teaching at the primary level
  • Experience teaching within the IB PYP is a strong advantage
  • Solid understanding of inquiry-based learning and formative assessment practices
  • Experience using Toddle or similar learning management systems
  • Fluent English speaker with strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong classroom management, collaboration, and communication skills
  • Experience working in international or multicultural school settings is an advantage
