Job Title: QAD Learning Support Coordinator (Ref: 2200)

Location: Qatar Academy Doha
School Type: International Baccalaureate (IB)

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Learning Support Coordinator to join our international school community. This role ensures that students with additional needs receive tailored support while guiding staff to deliver high-quality, inclusive education.

Working collaboratively with school leadership, teachers, support staff, parents, counselors, and learning support teachers, the Learning Support Coordinator fosters a supportive learning environment and ensures alignment with the school's promotion and admission criteria.

The successful candidate will lead the planning, coordination, and delivery of a structured and functional framework for inclusive education and effective behavior management, integrating proactive, tiered intervention cycles with differentiated teaching practices and clearly defined reintegration pathways.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development, implementation, and review of the school’s inclusive education and learning support framework.
  • Collaborate closely with school leadership to support whole-school inclusion and wellbeing priorities.
  • Coordinate identification, assessment, and ongoing monitoring of students with additional learning or behavioural needs.
  • Develop, implement, and review Individual Learning Plans (ILPs), behaviour support plans, and reintegration pathways.
  • Oversee tiered intervention cycles to ensure timely and effective interventions.
  • Monitor student progress using data-informed practices and adjust support strategies accordingly.
  • Facilitate regular meetings with stakeholders to review student progress and refine intervention strategies.
  • Plan and deliver professional learning opportunities focused on inclusion, differentiation, and behavior support.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field; Master’s preferred
  • Teaching certification
  • 6-8 years of classroom teaching experience with 3 years of special education teaching experience and experiential learning
  • Thorough knowledge of special education procedures and the relevant programs
  • Experience in the development of curriculum and assessment
  • Recent and relevant professional development
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent writing skills – ability to draft / edit a variety of written reports and communications and articulate ideas clearly and concisely; proficiency in Arabic a plus
