While not required, the following are strongly preferred:
● Previous teaching experience
● Certification (TESL, TEFL, etc)
If you are applying from overseas or in Japan and seeking visa sponsorship:
● You must be a university graduate holding a bachelor's degree or higher.
● You must also have had 12 years of education where English was the main language of instruction used for all classes (i.e. all classes were taught primarily in English).
Both of these are necessary to be eligible for visa sponsorship, and are non-negotiable.

Experience Japan in a whole new way as an Assistant Language Teacher (ALT) with Borderlink, Inc. We're looking for enthusiastic, energetic and education-focused individuals to join us in Japan for the new school year starting from April 2026.
ALTs teach alongside Japanese teachers to make English lessons fun and engaging for the students. Practicing grammar and vocabulary as well as participating in games and activities all help to reinforce the lesson’s goals. Where being an ALT really stands out from other teaching jobs are the opportunities you'll have for communication and interaction with your students and fellow teachers beyond the classroom.
Our ALTs work primarily in elementary and junior high schools, with possibility of kindergarten and senior high school placements as well. Why be an ALT?
● Stable, fulfilling and full-time work starting from Fall 2025 & earlier (if living in Japan) or Spring 2026 (if living overseas).
● Monthly salaries ranging from 220,000-250,000 yen, enrollment in social insurance/health care and support every step of the way
● Work on weekdays (Monday-Friday) between 7:45 am and 6:00 pm, and enjoy free evenings, weekends, holidays and school vacations
