Having taken AP CS in high school will also be a huge advantage even in the absence of prior experience teaching the course, as it would allow the teacher to capitalize on their experience as a student to conduct their course in the most engaging and useful manner.

3. Academic transcript scan.

An online interview with the HR Office and the Dean of Academic Affairs for International Curricula will be conducted upon receipt of these documents.

The computer science teacher will be responsible for instructing computer science to students at high school level. In particular, the teacher is expected to spearhead the efforts to roll out the AP Computer Science and AP CS Principles courses for the first time.

The teacher will teach in high school (Gr.10-12). Note that English is taught from Gr.1 and, therefore, students have full command of written and spoken English. The school will provide all necessary respurces to facilitate the teaching process, including ensuring the avaliability of computers and high-speed internet connection in the classroom.

The maximum teaching hours per week are 25 hours (40 minutes each), but we try to ensure that our teachers have fewer hours. AP class sizes vary between 15-25 students.

The first private school in the country - Hobby School was founded in 1994, to educate the next generation of Mongolian intelligentsia, against a backdrop of tough economic conditions, a rapidly growing urban population, and a crumbling public education system.

The school's name, despite lending an aura of leisure, is deeply meaningful. The inspiration for the school followed Eurasian Hobby (Falco Subbuteo). Falcons are revered by Mongolians as symbols of courage and vigor.

In the academic year 2023-2024, the school has about 1200 students, in grades 1 to 12 (ages 6 to 17, about).

Today, the school is widely recognized as one of the best secondary education institutions in the country. In line with the founder Dr.Oyuntsetseg's vision of nurturing the next generation of Mongolian intelligentsia, Hobby School keeps its tuition fees at levels far below its peer schools to ensure accessibility for families from different socio-economic backgrounds.

In addition to following the State-approved General Secondary Education Curriculum of Mongolia, the school implements an immersion-based program of English instruction. Hobby School was the first school in Mongolia to introduce IPC (The International Primary Curriculum) and IMYC (The International Middle Years Curriculum). The school was also the first in the country to adopt AP courses into its curriculum. The school is planning to introduce the Cambridge Curriculum. The bilingual nature of the curriculum results in added workload on our students.
