Job Description

The computer science teacher will be responsible for instructing computer science to students at high school level. In particular, the teacher is expected to spearhead the efforts to roll out the AP Computer Science and AP CS Principles courses for the first time. 

The teacher will teach in high school (Gr.10-12). Note that English is taught from Gr.1 and, therefore, students have full command of written and spoken English. The school will provide all necessary respurces to facilitate the teaching process, including ensuring the avaliability of computers and high-speed internet connection in the classroom. 

The maximum teaching hours per week are 25 hours (40 minutes each), but we try to ensure that our teachers have fewer hours. AP class sizes vary between 15-25 students.

Prior experience in teaching overseas, especially in developing world countries would be a huge benefit alongside openness to new cultures. The school is a multicultural environment but with its predominantly (if not exclusively) Mongolian student body, respect for and understanding of local customs and traditions is expected. 

Having taken AP CS in high school will also be a huge advantage even in the absence of prior experience teaching the course, as it would allow the teacher to capitalize on their experience as a student to conduct their course in the most engaging and useful manner.
