As BASIS International School Bangkok expands the Primary School program we are now looking to add to our dynamic team of administrators and teachers.
The Director of Primary School is a member of the Senior Leadership Team and Academic Leadership Team working closely with all school administrators and reporting to the Head of School. The Director's main focus points are direct supervision of primary school faculty, monitoring teacher effectiveness and student academics, primary school staff support, and communicating effectively with faculty and parents.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise faculty such as the Dean of Primary School, primary school Subject Expert Teacher and Learning Expert Teachers, Primary School Intervention Specialists, and Primary School Second Language Acquisition Specialists (SLAs).
- Monitor teacher effectiveness via observation and feedback using the Teacher Performance Review Handbook.
- Support effective delivery of teaching and learning.
- Outline, plan, and present professional development in collaboration with Head of School.
- Support teacher or position recruitment.
- Collaborate with Director of Academic Programs (DAP) and Subject Leads on program and curriculum delivery and efficacy, data-driven initiatives, and curriculum alignment.
- Monitor student grades and achievement.
- Review midterm progress reports and term report cards and Social Emotional Reports (SERs).
- Manage and organize response to intervention efforts.
- With DAP, review results of assessments including: Edmentum data, F&P data, and gradebook data.
- Supervise and execute student academic and behavioral support.
- Supervise student discipline records and parent communication related to academic performance and behavioral expectations.
- Adhere to, practice, and model the school’s Child Protection and Safeguarding policies and procedures.
- Academic support coordination for student hours, Academic Enrichment, interventions, and academic probation.
- Plan and lead primary school faculty meetings.
- Create procedures for teacher substitutions by collecting lesson plans and assigning substitute teachers.
- Respond to primary school teacher leave, order, and event/field trip requests.
- Support admissions procedures.
- Participate in the development of academic and student schedules.
- Create and distribute the weekly newsletter, as well as regular updates to the primary school faculty
- Support teachers with consistent and positive communication with parents.
- Meet with parents for academic or well-being concerns.

Job Requirements
Who We're Looking For:
- Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood and Adolescence, Elementary Education or a similar, related field.
- 3-5 years of leadership experience in an early childhood school environment.
- Demonstrated strength in administrative experience.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills (oral and written).
