Position Overview
We are seeking experienced educators with a strong commitment to language development, inclusion, and supporting students from diverse linguistic and learning backgrounds. The successful candidate will be a collaborative practitioner who uses data-informed approaches to enable students to access the curriculum and flourish both academically and socially. This role also presents a valuable opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the ongoing development and direction of our EAL provision at a pivotal stage in the school’s student support journey.
Key Responsibilities
English as an Additional Language (EAL) Teacher:
Provide targeted English language instruction to multilingual learners
Support students’ development in listening, speaking, reading, and writing
Collaborate with classroom teachers to scaffold instruction and increase language access across the curriculum
Use assessment data to plan, monitor, and adjust instruction
Support inclusive classroom practices through push-in and pull-out models
Communicate clearly with students, families, and colleagues regarding progress and goals
Ensure accurate identification, assessment and exit criteria for EAL support.
Oversee tracking, data analysis and reporting on language progress.
Collaborate with the Director of Student Support Services to develop our curriculum, identify EAL trends, discuss admissions and advise on resourcing.
Build staff capacity through guidance and professional development.
Ensure compliance with school policies and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field (Master’s degree preferred)
Valid teaching certification in EAL/ESL/TESOL
Experience working with multilingual learners
Experience in an international or diverse school setting preferred
Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
