Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced English Teacher to teach IGCSE and A-Level English and prepare students for external examinations. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong subject knowledge, effective classroom practice, and a clear focus on student progress.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver IGCSE and A-Level English lessons in line with the approved curriculum.
- Prepare students for external examinations using specifications, past papers, mark schemes, and examiner guidance.
- Develop students’ reading, writing, literary analysis, communication, and critical-thinking skills.
- Assess student work regularly and provide timely, constructive feedback.
- Track student progress and provide intervention where students are underperforming.
- Maintain required lesson plans, assessment records, Google Classroom/EduPage content, and academic documentation.
- Maintain effective classroom management and student supervision.
- Communicate professionally with parents regarding student progress and concerns.
- Participate in meetings, lesson observations, school duties, and professional development.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Education, or a related field.
- Relevant secondary teaching experience.
- Strong written and spoken English.
- Experience teaching IGCSE and/or A-Level English strongly preferred.
- Experience preparing students for external examinations preferred.
- PGCE, QTS, or equivalent teaching qualification preferred.
- Ability to work effectively in an international and multicultural school environment.
