Position Overview

Colegio El Camino is seeking dynamic, student-centered, internationally minded educators with formal IB PYP, MYP, or DP training and experience. This position requires strong instructional practice, collaborative planning, and a commitment to inclusion, inquiry-based learning, and the IB Learner Profile.

Successful applicants demonstrate flexibility, professionalism, cultural sensitivity, and a deep belief in educating the whole child.

Only applicants currently residing from countries in the Western Hemisphere will be considered.
Visa standing in the U.S., Canada, or Mexico is considered a strong asset.
Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities

1. Teaching & Learning

  • Design and deliver engaging, inquiry-based lessons aligned with IB programme standards and practices.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs, language levels, and readiness levels.
  • Integrate ATL Skills (Approaches to Learning), international mindedness, and conceptual understanding.
  • Maintain high academic expectations within a supportive classroom environment.

2. Planning & Collaboration

  • Participate actively in weekly collaborative planning with grade-level or subject teams.
  • Contribute to the vertical and horizontal articulation of the curriculum across the IB continuum.
  • Develop unit planners using PYP Planners, MYP Unit Planners, or DP Course Outlines as applicable.
  • Engage in professional reflection, planning meetings, and school-wide initiatives.

3. Assessment & Reporting

  • Use formative and summative assessment tools aligned with IB assessment philosophy.
  • Provide timely, constructive feedback to students and parents.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of student progress.
  • Contribute to student-led conferences, exhibitions, and internal IB assessments (if applicable).

4. Inclusion & Student Support

  • Differentiate for students with diverse abilities, language backgrounds, and socio-emotional needs.
  • Collaborate with Learning Support, EAL, and counseling teams to implement accommodations.
  • Promote a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment grounded in IB Learner Profile attributes.

5. Professionalism & Community Engagement

  • Model open-mindedness, global citizenship, and ethical conduct at all times.
  • Participate in professional development, IB workshops, training sessions, and coaching cycles.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues, leadership, students, and parents.
  • Support school events, assemblies, field trips, and community initiatives as part of professional duties

6. Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education (or relevant subject area).
  • Teaching license/certification from country of origin.
  • Formal IB training (Category 1, 2, or 3) in PYP, MYP, or DP.
  • Demonstrated experience teaching within an IB World School.
  • Strong command of the English language (C1+).

7. Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in an international or bilingual school environment.
  • Familiarity with inquiry-based pedagogy, concept-based instruction, and standards-based assessment.
  • Bilingual English–Spanish (highly preferred but not required).
  • Candidates with legal visa standing in the U.S., Canada, or Mexico are strongly preferred.
  • Experience with learning technologies (Google Workspace, LMS platforms, digital assessments).

8. Eligibility Requirement

Applicants must currently reside in or be citizens of the Western Hemisphere.
(Canada, USA, Mexico, Central America, South America, and the Caribbean.)
