The Inclusion teacher will pledge his/her commitment to help the school achieve
its mission, goals, and vision; value community; bring a spirit of enthusiasm, energy, and willingness
to take thoughtful initiative in a collaborative setting. The SEN teacher works with children who need
extra support to fulfil their potential. The SEN teachers may also work with exceptionally gifted students
and should be committed to further the intellectual and personal development of students, inspiring and
empowering them to become positive, active global citizens.
Organize and provide instruction at a variety of different levels to students who have emotional,
behavioral or learning difficulties or physical disabilities, and who find school lessons and learning
harder than typical children of the same age.
• Ability to be creative and to adapt their lesson plans and style to suit the students– including
teaching the same material in three or four different ways to help individuals understand and
achieve.
• Create and apply specific teaching techniques and produce activities that are specific to each
student’s abilities and needs.
• Planning, preparing and presenting differentiated lessons that cater to the needs of the whole ability
range within their class.
• Develop Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) to focus on the student’s strengths and
weaknesses and outline the steps necessary to ensure that lessons will help to improve priority areas.
• Effective management of student groups, while providing for a variety of learning styles, ability
levels, and educational backgrounds.
• Motivate students with enthusiastic, imaginative class activities.
• Prepare, mark and provide feedback to facilitate positive student development.
• Meet requirements for the assessment. Records, evaluates, and reports student’s development.
• Provide feedback to parents on student's progress.
• Attend professional meetings including staff meetings, educational conferences, and teacher
training workshops in order to maintain and improve performance and serve on committees as
required.
• Work collaboratively with others to plan and coordinate work.
• Organize and take part in school events, outings and activities.
• Undertake special assignments, after school activities and related duties as and when required.
