BASIS Bilingual School Shenzhen is seeking qualified candidates for Kindergarten Teacher for the 2020-21 school year!
BASIS Bilingual School Shenzhen is part of the BASIS International Schools network of schools in China.
BASIS International teachers are knowledgeable, passionate, and believe in transforming education. As part of a uniquely collaborative and professional teaching community, BASIS International teachers motivate students to reach their highest potential, while also elevating their own skills through peer collaboration and a culture where learning is of the greatest importance. Our Kindergarten classrooms are taught by two teachers — the lead Kindergarten Teacher and an additional Kinder Teaching Fellow. The Kinder Teaching Fellow supports the learning of students and supplements the instruction of the lead teacher.
In a BASIS International Kindergarten teaching position, you will create a learning environment where learning is a joyful and rewarding experience, and children learn to become enthusiastic life-long learners. The thematic, hands-on, and content-rich curriculum creates a blueprint for children to transition with ease to first grade, and equips students with a foundation for future success. Our early education teachers are guided by the belief that any child can excel with the right support.
Primary Job Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Teach higher level content than grade standard in an interactive learning environment to deliver exceptional results for all students
- Create intervention and enrichment activities to supplement core instruction to heighten the trajectory of their academic and personal success
- Instruct students in executive functions to develop skills of autonomy, responsibility, and independence
- Implementation of BASIS Curriculum by designing effective and creative lessons and assessments to display your passion for learning and educate students at an internationally competitive level
- Management of student behavior to foster academic achievement, personal responsibility, intellect, and individuality in all students
- Collaborate with other BASIS International teachers to form a community of smart, talented, and interesting people who are passionate about their work and readily willing to work in a professional, academic environment

Job Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education, Early Learning, Childhood Development or other related field and the ability to successfully pass a background clearance
- In addition to a Bachelor’s degree, documentation of a state or national authorized elementary subject knowledge certification is necessary
- Must have a minimum of 2 full years of teaching experience
- Subject matter postgraduate work is preferred, or a combination of subject matter undergraduate degree with a Master’s in Education
- A successful applicant will demonstrate strong communication skills and be open to new ideas in teaching methods

About BASIS Bilingual School Shenzhen
BASIS Bilingual School Shenzhen is our first bilingual school in China. Opened in September 2020 in Shenzhen's Futian District for Pre-Kindergarten to Grade 5 students, the campus expanded in 2021 to add middle school grades and now offers courses through Grade 12, and celebrated our first graduating class in 2025.
Initially opening with state-of-the-art classrooms, multi-activity space and office facilities, in 2021 the newly completed campus added a gymnasium, indoor swimming pool, 200-meter track and soccer field, Apple computer lab, theater, and additional classrooms.
BASIS Bilingual School Shenzhen combines the core of the BASIS Curriculum with much of the language, history, culture, and values of the traditional Chinese curriculum. About BASIS Bilingual Kindergarten Futian
Our second campus dedicated exclusively to Early Childhood Education opened in the fall of 2024 in Shenzhen's Futian District. BASIS Bilingual Kindergarten Futian focuses on bilingual early learning, while adhering to our joyful learning culture and ensuring every student receives a solid foundation to carry them into future BASIS education.
Teachers, staff, and families enjoy a state-of-the-art campus with spaces designed specifically with young learners in mind. The campus includes an auditorium, indoor play spaces, maker space, top-of-the-line classrooms, and much more.
Living in Shenzhen
Shenzhen is one of the fastest growing economic centers in the world, and Futian has it all on display with a beautiful, lighted skyline. About a mile from campus is Coco Park Mall with a movie theater, children's playground, and numerous international restaurants, bars and shops--such as Gap and Uniqlo.
Only approximately two miles from campus is the Shenzhen concert hall designed by Japanese architect Arata Isozaki, which attracts musicians from around the world. Across the plaza is a huge complex housing the Shenzhen library (9 million volumes) and the mega Book City that has its own English-language bookstore. The school is also close to the Shenzhen Golf Course, the Four Seasons and Ritz-Carlton Hotels, and three amusement parks.
Shenzhen shares its border with Hong Kong, and in about 15 minutes you can travel from the Futian train station to Hong Kong's West Kowloon station.
