Job Description

Excellent knowledge of the subject. Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus,

statistics, and their applications.

• Strong understanding and implementation of the California State Standards

• Experience in using various mathematical software(s) which would enhance the teaching and

learning experience in the classroom.

• Ability to implement Inquiry Based Learning in teaching Mathematics by triggering curiosity and

fostering critical thinking skills. Ability to ignite a child’s passion and excitement and drives them

to want to learn more.

• Experienced in using the graphing calculator is an advantage.

• Support entrepreneurial endeavors.

Teach all areas related to the subject and relevant curriculum.

• Establish and enforce rules for behavior, policies and procedures to maintain order among students.

• Observe and evaluate students’ performance, behavior and social development.

• Instruct students individually and in groups, adapting teaching methods to meet students' varying

needs and interests.

• Provide a variety of materials and resources for students to explore, manipulate, and use in learning

activities.

• Plan and conduct activities for a balanced program of instruction, demonstration, and work time

that provides students with opportunities to observe, question, and investigate.

• Confer with parents or guardians, other teachers, counselors, and administrators to resolve students'

behavioral and academic problems.

• Prepare students for later grades by encouraging them to explore learning opportunities and to

persevere with challenging tasks.

• Establish clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects, and communicate those objectives to

students.

• Prepare and implement remedial programs for students requiring extra help.

• Meet with parents and guardians to discuss their students' progress, and to determine their priorities

for their students and their resource needs.

• Prepare objectives and outlines for courses of study, following curriculum guidelines or

requirements of ADEC/KHDA and schools.

• Guide and counsel students with adjustment and/or academic problems, or special academic

interests.

• Identify students showing signs of emotional, developmental, or health-related problems, and

discuss them with supervisors, parents or guardians, and SEN Department.

• Maintain accurate and complete student records, and prepare reports on students and activities, as

required by ADEC/KHDA and School.

• Assess students through conducting quizzes, tests, project etc ...

• Prepare, administer, and grade tests and assignments to evaluate students' progress.

• Meet with other professionals to discuss individual students' needs and progress.

• Confer with other staff members to plan and schedule lessons promoting learning, following

approved curricula.

• Administer standardized ability and achievement tests, and interpret results to determine students'

developmental levels and needs.

• Prepare for assigned classes, and show written evidence of preparation upon request of immediate

supervisors.

• Utilize different types of technology in the classroom in order to create meaningful learning

experiences for students of all ages.

• Plan and supervise class projects, field trips, visits by guests, or other experiential activities, and

guide students in learning from those activities.

• Attend professional meetings including staff meetings, educational conferences, and teacher

training workshops in order to maintain and improve performance, and serve on committees as

required.

• Perform break duties as scheduled by the section’s administrators.

• Perform administrative duties such as assisting in school libraries, play areas and cafeteria

monitoring, and during the bus timings.

• Work collaboratively with colleagues and superiors
