We are seeking a passionate and dynamic Middle School and High School Art Teacher to join our team for the upcoming 2026-2027 academic year. As a member of our faculty, you will have the opportunity to inspire and teach with students in grades 8, 9, 10 and 11, nurturing their artistic skills and developing a deeper appreciation of artistic creations.

The daily workload will consist of six 45-minute class periods, allowing opportunity for engaging with students and delivering high-quality instruction. In addition to teaching, you will have two dedicated planning periods, allowing time for curriculum development, assessment preparation, and collaboration with colleagues. The schedule also includes designated time for breakfast and lunch breaks. This balanced schedule ensures that educators can effectively deliver content, and support student learning.

Day-Star School is a private K-12 bilingual school located in Juticalpa, in the eastern part of Honduras. The school was founded in 1988. It is owned and operated by Mark and Betty Skallman, North Americans, who have lived and worked in Honduras since 1980. 

The school is nationally accredited with the Honduran Ministry of Education and internationally accredited by Cognia.  All classes, except for Spanish grammar, civics, and some social studies, are taught in English. The teaching staff includes both International and Honduran teachers. The student body is Honduran, whose parents live and work in the community.
