Job Description

Key Responsibilities

Instruction & Classroom Practice

  • Deliver evidence of student-centered, differentiated instruction, meeting the developmental, academic, and socio-emotional needs of diverse learners.
  • Foster an inclusive classroom environment that encourages inquiry, critical thinking, and meaningful discussion of literature and nonfiction texts.
  • Teach a range of ELA courses (Grades 7–12), including AP English Language and AP English Literature, ensuring vertical alignment of skills in reading, writing, speaking, and listening.
  • Curriculum, Planning & Assessment
  • Develop and adapt instructional materials to accommodate varied learning styles and readiness levels.
  • Create and administer a range of formative and summative assessments—essays, timed writings, creative projects, reading journals, quizzes, and exams.
  • Provide timely and constructive feedback to support student growth in analytical writing, rhetorical skills, and literary analysis.
  • Prepare students for AP examinations through targeted instruction, practice assessments, review sessions, and study resources.

Professional Responsibilities

  • Run one After-School Activity (ASA) (approx. 1 hour per week).
  • Fulfill assigned school duties throughout the school day
  • Attend and actively support mandatory school events (Back-to-School Night, International Day, etc.) and volunteer with PTO events when possible.
  • Uphold school-wide policies, including phone-free expectations and consistent behavior management aligned with school values.
  • Collaborate with colleagues for interdisciplinary planning, team teaching, and school- wide events


Qualifications

  • ●  Bachelor's degree in English, Literature, Linguistics, Education, or a related field (required).
  • ●  Master’s degree in English, Education, or a related field (preferred).
  • ●  Valid teaching certification/license in English/Language Arts (preferred).
  • ●  Training or experience with AP English Language and/or AP English Literature (highly preferred).

Our Elementary wing is composed of spacious classrooms, play, and garden spaces. The Secondary wing comprises classrooms, a science lab, a workout room, and student lounge, and study areas. The Arts wing includes two computer labs, the library, a maker space, our performing and visual arts facilities, a large events terrace overlooking the river, and a catering kitchen for lunch service.

The campus offers wireless Internet access throughout.
