1. Salaries
Teachers' salaries at Every Child Counts School are determined by their educational qualifications, credentials, degrees, years of teaching experience, and references.
2. Medical Benefits
Private medical insurance is available to employees of Every Child Counts School through the Catholic Archdiocese of the Bahamas.
The cost of medical insurance is shared between the employee and the Archdiocese, with the Archdiocese paying the larger portion of the premium. Currently, the employee's portion is $314.44 for an individual.
Employees who wish to extend medical insurance coverage to their family members may do so at their own expense. The employee is responsible for the full additional cost of family coverage.
Employees who enroll in the medical insurance plan within the first month of employment are not required to undergo medical examinations to qualify for coverage.
The Bahamas also provides public healthcare services. A government clinic is located in Marsh Harbour, Abaco, and is available to the public. Public hospitals are located in Nassau, New Providence, and Freeport, Grand Bahama.
3. Relocation and Airfare
Every Child Counts School provides one round-trip airline ticket for employees relocating to Abaco for the school year. This includes airfare to Abaco at the beginning of the school year and return airfare to the employee's home at the end of the school year.
4. Housing
Housing is in high demand on Abaco, and new employees are strongly encouraged to begin searching for suitable and affordable accommodations as early as possible.
Every Child Counts School may provide temporary, short-term shared housing on campus for employees who require assistance upon arrival while space is available.
This temporary accommodation may be available for a period of three to six months, depending on individual circumstances and availability.
Employees are expected to use this time to locate suitable private accommodations. At the end of the temporary housing period, employees are required to move into their own privately arranged housing.
