Miras International School of Almaty, Kazakhstan, a CIS-accredited IB World School is seeking a Secondary School Principal (incl. 10 hours’ teaching) for grades 5 to 12, to begin August 1, 2022.
A high level of English proficiency is required, along with strong speaking and writing abilities, in addition to having requisite teaching and administrative credentials and experience.
Strongly prefer MYP/DP and overseas teaching/administrative experience.
Initial 2-year contract renewed annually upon successful performance.
[The start date of this position is August 1, 2026, but will be dependent on processing of letters of invitation for work visas following successful application. All documents must be legally authorized/apostilled. Kazakhstan immigration law prevents the school from offering the position to candidates with travelling unmarried partners, or non-working married partners if the marriage is less than 3 years.]
· Net salary USD 50,400 for candidates with IB experience and Bachelor’s Degree (depending on years of experience) paid in Tenge (conversion to major currencies is simple).
· Free tuition for up to 2 dependents.
· Airfare for employee at beginning and end of contract and for up to 2 dependents below age 18 living with the Principal. Reimbursement up to a set limit depending on the home of record.
· Shipping allowance of 200,000 KZT (about 400 USD).
· Healthcare for employee (international insurance) and for up to 2 dependents below age 18 living with teacher.
· Housing provided on campus or on nearby housing complex (no pets).
· Utilities paid partially by the school (including Wifi) – USD$50 on average monthly.
· Savings potential: 50% or more depending on lifestyle.
