Job Description

Position Summary:

The Special Educational Needs (SEN) teacher will pledge his/her commitment to help the School achieve its mission, goals, and vision; value community; bring a spirit of enthusiasm, energy, and willingness to take thoughtful initiative in a collaborative setting. The SEN teacher works with children who need extra support to fulfill their potential. The SEN teachers may also work with exceptionally gifted students and should be committed to furthering the intellectual and personal development of students, inspiring and empowering them to become positive, active global citizens.

Qualifications:

  • BSc in Special Education with a valid teaching certificate/license in content area and/or related field. Master’s degree in special education is a plus
  • A minimum of two years of proven experience as a Special Education Teacher or relevant role.
  • IELTS or TOFEL for non-native teachers (6.5 for subjects taught in English & 7.5 for English subjects).
  • Good knowledge of current special education topics and methodologies.
  • Teaching experience in an American curriculum school is preferred.
  • Experience with current best practices, current teaching materials, and current instructional strategies, as well as recent professional growth activities.
  • Experience working with children with a wide range of disabilities.
