Vice Head of Division of High School is a member of the Senior Leadership Team working closely with all school administrators and reporting the Head of School. Vice Head of Division of High School main focus points are developing secondary-level programs, student development coaching, student behavior, and social integration management.
Vice Head of Division of High School will directly supervise Teachers, Teaching Fellows, and the Dean of Secondary School (as applicable).
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate secondary school academic programs to support students in situations relating to social integration in/out of the classroom
- Create procedures for extreme behavior occurrences
- Monitor parent communications
- Manage parent expectations
- Support students’ social-emotional development
- Enforce School Routines and Code of Conduct
- Assist teachers with student behavior management
- Communicate with parents as needed to collaborate on student behavior management
- Maintain student discipline documentation
- Coordinate academic support program with the Director of Student Affairs and Director of Academic Programs
- Assist teachers with parent communication regarding various concerns
- Support a nurturing and achievement-oriented school culture (define school-wide behavior expectations, manage social emotional curriculum and character program…)
- Define routines for school’s common areas (recess, lunch, hallways, Early Bird/Late Bird)
- Provide support and guidance to Teaching Fellows
- Monitor student arrival and dismissal

- 3-5 years of leadership experience in a high school environment.

The second BASIS International School in China, BASIS International School Guangzhou, opened in August 2017. Almost 400 students in grades Kindergarten - Grade 9 attended the first year, and the school has grown to its capacity of approximately 1,200 students in grades Pre-K - 12. Opening in the fall of 2026, BASIS Bilingual School Guangzhou will be the second BASIS school in the city and the first bilingual campus. The school will offer kindergarten, primary, middle, and high school programs for students with mainland Chinese residency, as well as for those with partly foreign passports or from Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan. Once complete, the campus will have the capacity to serve 1,900 students.
BASIS Bilingual School Guangzhou is located on the north side of Xin’gang East Road in Pazhou, Haizhu District, the core area of Guangzhou’s Artificial Intelligence and Digital Economy Pilot Zone. This prime location positions the school within one of the city’s most forward-looking and dynamic districts.
The campus covers 24,000 square meters, with a total construction area of approximately 74,000 square meters and a planned investment of 1.2 billion RMB. The school is equipped with a lecture hall, library, black box theater, swimming pool, observatory, cafeteria, gymnasiums, laboratories, and multifunctional classrooms for arts, music, and innovation, along with other high-standard teaching facilities that reflect the quality and ambition of BASIS International & Bilingual Schools.
