Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Art & Design Educator to teach students across the IB Diploma Programme (DP), IB Career-related Programme (CP), and Cambridge IGCSE, AS & A Levels. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong subject knowledge, the ability to inspire creativity and critical thinking, and adaptability to the Indian school working environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, deliver, and assess engaging Art & Design lessons aligned with IBDP, IBCP, and Cambridge curriculum requirements
- Guide students in developing creative, technical, and conceptual skills across a range of media
- Support students in building strong portfolios in line with assessment criteria and examination standards
- Foster inquiry, experimentation, and reflective practice in the art classroom
- Integrate visual literacy, art history, and contemporary practices into teaching
- Use formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress
- Maintain accurate academic records and prepare reports as per school and board requirements
- Create an inclusive, well-organized, and safe studio learning environment
- Collaborate with coordinators and faculty on curriculum planning and moderation
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding student progress
- Adapt teaching practices to align with Indian school policies, schedules, and professional expectations
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts, Visual Arts, Design, or a related field (Master’s preferred)
- Recognized teaching qualification (B.Ed., PGCE, or equivalent)
- Proven experience teaching secondary and senior secondary students
- Experience with IBDP / IBCP and/or Cambridge IGCSE, AS & A Levels preferred
- Strong understanding of assessment criteria, moderation, and portfolio development
- Proficiency in a range of traditional and contemporary art media and techniques
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills
- Ability to integrate digital tools and technology into art and design instruction
