Chemistry Teacher (MYP/DP)

Invento the Uzbek International School is a dynamic international school in Tashkent offering the IB programmes alongside the national curriculum. We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Chemistry Teacher (MYP/DP) to join our Secondary School team for the 2026–2027 academic year.

This role is ideal for an educator with strong subject expertise, proven IB experience, and a passion for inquiry-based science education in an international school environment.

About the Role

The Chemistry Teacher is responsible for delivering engaging and academically rigorous instruction aligned with the IB MYP and DP frameworks, supporting students’ conceptual understanding, scientific inquiry skills, and practical laboratory competence in chemistry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach Chemistry within the IB MYP and DP programmes
  • Plan and deliver inquiry-based, concept-driven lessons aligned with IB curriculum requirements
  • Develop students’ understanding of chemical concepts, experimental design, and data analysis
  • Prepare students for MYP assessments and DP internal and external assessments
  • Plan, conduct, and supervise practical laboratory work in accordance with safety regulations
  • Assess student progress and provide timely, meaningful, and constructive feedback
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress, assessments, and reports using Toddle
  • Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum alignment, interdisciplinary units, and moderation
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and the wider school community
  • Contribute positively to departmental planning and the school’s academic culture

Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Sciences, Education, or a related field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience teaching Chemistry at the secondary level
  • Proven experience teaching IB MYP and/or IB DP (mandatory)
  • Strong understanding of IB assessment criteria, inquiry-based learning, and experimental chemistry
  • Experience teaching DP Chemistry (SL/HL) is a strong advantage
  • Experience working in international or multicultural school environments
  • Strong classroom management, communication, and collaboration skills
  • English level: Fluent or near-native
