College | University Guidance Counsellor (January 2026 Start)

Universal American School delivers the US curriculum via New York State Standards. Nurturing inquiry-based learning through multiple pathways including Advanced Placement tracks, IB Diploma Program, and Primary Years Program. The role:

Universal American School is seeking to appoint a College Counselor to join our dedicated counseling team from January 2026. The role involves guiding students through the college application process, providing advice on college choices, and supporting their academic and career aspirations.

The successful candidate will have:
• A bachelor's degree in a related field
• At least 2 years of college counselling experience
• The ability to share outstanding practice with colleagues
• The ability to work well in a team and with other colleagues
• The desire to develop and grow professionally
• A creative and enthusiastic approach both in and out of the classroom
• Excellent IT and interpersonal communication skills to work closely with students and parents
• Experience working in a diverse, international school environment (desirable although not essential)
• The desire to work within a team of highly supportive and creative colleagues
