Deputy Head – Academic
Location: Rabat, Morocco
Start Date: August (or earlier)
Contract: Full-time
Our client, a well-established British-style international school in Rabat, is seeking an experienced and strategic Deputy Head Academic to join its Senior Leadership Team.
This is a key leadership role supporting the Executive Principal in driving academic excellence, curriculum development, and whole-school improvement within a high-performing international environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and implement the school’s academic vision in collaboration with the Senior Leadership Team.
- Maintain high academic standards and ensure curriculum quality across the school.
- Monitor teaching and learning through data analysis, observations, and performance review.
- Oversee curriculum development, academic policies, and improvement planning.
- Support and develop teaching staff through coaching, mentoring, and professional development.
- Contribute to timetabling, staffing, recruitment, and academic organisation.
- Strengthen relationships with parents and communicate academic progress effectively.
- Promote safeguarding and student wellbeing at all times.
Candidate Profile
- Relevant degree and recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, BEd, or equivalent).
- Proven experience teaching the British Curriculum.
- Significant leadership experience, ideally as Deputy Head Academic or equivalent.
- Strong track record of driving academic improvement and curriculum development.
- Experience working in an international or multicultural school setting.
- Data-driven, strategic thinker with excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Strong understanding of safeguarding and accountability standards.
