Deputy Head – Early Years & Primary
Location: Rabat, Morocco
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Full-time
Our client, a well-established international school in Rabat, is seeking an experienced and dynamic Deputy Head of Early Years & Primary to support the leadership and strategic development of the school.
This is a key leadership role, working closely with the Head of School/Principal to ensure high standards of teaching, learning, student wellbeing, and operational excellence within a bilingual and dual-curriculum environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the day-to-day leadership and management of Early Years and Primary.
- Monitor and enhance teaching quality through observations, coaching, and mentoring.
- Lead curriculum development and ensure continuity across phases.
- Support staff development, performance management, and professional learning.
- Promote strong safeguarding, student wellbeing, and positive behaviour practices.
- Build effective relationships with parents and represent the school within the community.
- Support compliance with local education regulations and international standards.
Candidate Profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field (Master’s preferred).
- Recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, B.Ed., or equivalent).
- Minimum 5 years’ teaching experience, ideally in Early Years and Primary.
- Previous leadership experience (Coordinator, Head of Year, Deputy, or similar).
- Strong understanding of high-quality teaching and curriculum development.
- Experience in bilingual or international school contexts (advantage).
- Strong communication, organisational, and leadership skills.
- Commitment to safeguarding and child protection.
