At BASIS, we believe students can achieve authentic learning through robust challenges. From middle school onwards, our students engage in advanced coursework, setting high expectations while establishing a solid foundation in core subjects, revisiting and reinforcing concepts in greater depth each year to prepare for entry into honors and Advanced Placement levels starting in ninth grade.
As an English Language Arts teacher, you build upon this foundation of language and social science skills and knowledge, covering topics such as the writing process, grammar, reading comprehension, and literary and rhetorical devices. You also collaborate with fellow teachers to create interdisciplinary lessons incorporating other subjects such as drama or history.
