We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced ESL / English Language Teacher to join our international school community. The successful candidate will support students in developing their English language proficiency across speaking, listening, reading, and writing.

The ESL Teacher will create an engaging, inclusive, and supportive learning environment, helping students build the language skills and confidence required to succeed academically and communicate effectively within an international school setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging English language lessons appropriate to students’ ages and proficiency levels.
• Teach and develop students’ speaking, listening, reading, writing, grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation skills.
• Assess students’ English language proficiency and identify individual learning needs.
• Differentiate instruction to support students with varying levels of English proficiency.
• Develop lesson plans and learning materials aligned with the school’s curriculum and language-learning objectives.
• Use a variety of teaching strategies, technology, and resources to create engaging and student-centred lessons.
• Monitor and assess student progress through formative and summative assessments.
• Provide regular, constructive feedback to students.
• Maintain accurate records of student achievement, attendance, and progress.
• Work collaboratively with classroom and subject teachers to support English language learners across the curriculum.
• Create a positive, inclusive, and culturally sensitive classroom environment.
• Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student progress.
• Participate in staff meetings, professional development, parent meetings, and school events.
• Contribute to extracurricular activities and the wider school community.
• Uphold the school’s safeguarding and child protection policies.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Education, English, Linguistics, TESOL, or a related field.
• Recognised teaching qualification and/or TEFL, TESOL, CELTA, or equivalent ESL qualification, depending on the requirements of the school.
• Previous ESL/EAL teaching experience, preferably with children or young people.
• Experience working in an international or multicultural environment is advantageous.
• Strong understanding of second-language acquisition and differentiated instruction.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Strong communication, organisation, and classroom management skills.
• Commitment to safeguarding, inclusion, and supporting the academic and personal development of all students.
